Project 1 — specs & description

Specs

Size

Hot-tub-rated extension (dimensions on request)

Materials

Pressure-treated Sienna Brown; triple 2x10 beam; 12-inch concrete piers

Area

West End Peterborough

Description

A deck extension engineered from the ground up to carry a future hot tub: three 12-inch concrete piers dug roughly four feet deep, 6x6 posts, and a triple 2x10 beam under joists sistered 16 inches on centre. The new boards run in a staggered pattern so the expansion blends into the existing deck, with railing posts anchored inside the joist cavities for a rail that does not wiggle.

Screen Rooms

Screen room repair — West End Peterborough.

Repainting the quarter round for the three-season room frame — too many old layers of paint to keep — West End Peterborough.

Project 2 — specs & description

Specs

Size

Full screen-room refit

3/4-inch pine quarter-round, custom frames; 100 feet of screening

Area

West End Peterborough

Description

A screen room brought back true: window frames demoed, re-nailed and levelled; custom pine quarter-round screen frames primed twice and painted three times; a hundred feet of screen tensioned and stapled every inch and a quarter so it sits tight and straight. Caulked outside to finish.

Dry-fitting the frame of the bunkie — North Kawarthas.

An addition to the bunkie, with a temporary roof to keep the floor dry — North Kawarthas.

Project 3 — specs & description

Materials

Rock wool insulation; SmartBoard siding + custom pine trim; Havelock metal roof; stone-core laminate; T&G pine

Area

North Kawarthas

Description

A fully insulated four-season bunkie on eight Bigfoot piers, built to be lived in year-round: rock wool insulation throughout with 16 inches in the vaulted ceiling, 2x6 walls, a strapped Havelock metal roof, and propane heat. Finished with stone-core laminate floors, tongue-and-groove pine walls and ceiling, engineered wall-to-roof ventilation, and a 60-amp panel — the whole exterior sealed bug- and mouse-proof at floor and soffit. Electrical by a licensed sub.

Shed

A barn-style shed — West End Peterborough.

After the patio install — soffit blocking, 6x6 posts on the back and right side, the plate anchored through the slab — West End Peterborough.

The original barn-style shed — West End Peterborough.

Project 4 — specs & description

Specs

Size

10 ft x 9 ft 6 in

Materials

2x6 studs over doubled 6x6 timbers; patio-slab floor; SmartBoard siding

Area

West End Peterborough

Description

A storage extension on a levelled, packed gravel-and-limestone base with a patio-slab floor. 2x6 stud walls sit over doubled 6x6 timbers, a custom double door clears the height restriction, the soffit is vented, and SmartBoard siding with matching trim finishes it clean.
